Geraldine’s Questions

What is one of your biggest blogging goals for this month?

For this month I am trying to get more blog views. I would really like to get 1000 views by the end of the year.

Where do you see your blog 3 years from now?

I would like it to be a pretty successful blog. The main reason for this is I want to reach as many people as possible specifically those with mental health issues. I want to let them know they are not alone and that there are other people in the world who know exactly how they are feeling.

If you weren’t blogging right now, what would you be doing?

I honestly don’t know. I have always loved writing and while I was initially sceptical to start a blog I knew I wanted to write and I’m so glad I decided to set up my very own blog.

If you could tame any animal in the world to be your pet, what would it be?

A baby tiger.

Would you rather never use social media sites / apps again or never watch another movie or TV show?

Oh that’s tough. Not gonna lie I can become addicted to social media but I also like my chick flicks so… never use social media sites.

Did you ever have a weird dream? If so, what was it about?

To be honest the moment I wake up in the morning I forget my dreams. So if I ever did have a weird dream, it’s long out of my mind.

If you could meet anyone in the world from any time period, who would it be?

Audrey Hepburn. She’s just a total icon.

What is one thing you’re absolutely terrified of?

Losing the people I love.

Would you rather be 15 feet tall or 1 foot tall?

Neither. Too tall and too short. I like to be average height.

If you could spend a day as the opposite gender (or basically whatever you aren’t currently), what would you do?

I’d probably end up having an Amanda bynes “she’s the man” moment. Wouldn’t complain if the guy looked like Channing Tatum though.

What is the best book you’ve ever read?

The perks of being a wallflower by Stephen Chobosky.

My nominations:

Blogger Recognition Award

Hey Everyone! Hope you all had a nice Halloween.

Firstly thank you to @niamhrblogs for the nomination. You’re a star. You can find Niamh’s amazing blog here:

The blogger recognition award is basically about recognising the hard work that all us bloggers do from the writing of real life issues to the countless hours spent editing. The award also lets us bloggers gain an insight into how fellow bloggers started their own blogs.

The Rules

  • Write a post showing your award
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started
  • 2 pieces of advice to give new bloggers
  • Thank who nominated you and include a link to their blog
  • Select 15 bloggers to nominate

How I started my blog

I have always loved writing. I wrote several articles for local newspapers. While I enjoyed writing about different topics my main focus was on mental health.  Some time after this, people began complimenting me on my writing and for talking about real life issues. I wanted to help those struggling with their mental health and to let them know they are not alone.

I was working part-time and I saved up the money I got at the weekend to put it towards setting up my blog. I contacted hostpapa who were really very helpful and set up my site from there. I am really proud of my blog and will continue writing well into the future.

2 pieces of advice to give new bloggers

Some days, you’re not gonna have any inspiration to write, and that’s okay. You should write from the heart. It’s your blog. Write what you want to write about but don’t force yourself to create a blog post, inspiration will come to you.

Be a blogger because you love writing not because you want to gain 1000 followers overnight. Blogging takes time but you also have to be yourself. If people like your content, you will gradually gain more followers overtime, not overnight.

About the Flawesome Award

The Flawesome Award was created by Sophia Ismaa . The award celebrates our flaws that make us awesome and turning those flaws into strengths. As humans, we should embrace our flaws. Afterall, everyone has flaws whether they care to admit them or not. As Sophia herself says, “Our flaws make us flawesome” so admire your own flaws because you are awesome just as you are.

My Flaws

I’m impatient

I’m impatient when it comes to people walking very slowly and I can’t pass them out or when my phone freezes or decides to act up in general. It just really annoys me.

I lose my temper fairly quickly. Like if I’m trying to concentrate on something and someone keeps talking to me I’m just like “uh just stop talking for two seconds I’m doing something!”. While I don’t get mad at the drop of a hat, only in certain situations do I become extremely annoyed and just lose my temper.

I’m Stubborn

While I don’t think I’m always right, when I ask my mam for advice and it sounds like good advice I tend to be like “oh ya I get what you mean” and then completely go against her advice because I think I’m right. I hate to admit it but my mam is usually right.

Nobody is perfect, we all have flaws but it’s about recognising those flaws and realising they make us stronger individuals.
