How I started my blog
I have always loved writing. I wrote several articles for local newspapers. While I enjoyed writing about different topics my main focus was on mental health. I became a volunteer contributor for spunout.ie and wrote many articles regarding my struggle with anxiety and depression. My biggest writing achievement so far was when I won a €50 voucher for a piece I wrote on Connor McGregor. Some time after this, people began complimenting me on my writing and for talking about real life issues. I wanted to help those struggling with their mental health and to let them know they are not alone.
I was working part-time and I saved up the money I got at the weekend to put it towards setting up my blog. I contacted hostpapa who were really very helpful and set up my site from there. I am really proud of my blog and will continue writing well into the future.
2 pieces of advice to give new bloggers
Some days, you’re not gonna have any inspiration to write, and that’s okay. You should write from the heart. It’s your blog. Write what you want to write about but don’t force yourself to create a blog post, inspiration will come to you.
Be a blogger because you love writing not because you want to gain 1000 followers overnight. Blogging takes time but you also have to be yourself. If people like your content, you will gradually gain more followers overtime, not overnight.
Apologies if any of you have been nominated already . Thanks for reading. Take Care X
